Somatic Psychotherapy.

I integrate my in-depth understanding of the body and mind to facilitate meaningful transformation in service of you finding connection, understanding and awareness. Therapy also known as counselling or psychotherapy is the process of gaining a deeper understanding of yourself.

It takes real courage to seek support during times of struggle or uncertainty, allowing yourself the time and space to process and heal is not luxury or self-indulgent, psychotherapy is fundamentally self-care.

The more work I do with women the more I realise how many of us are deeply disconnected from self and how normal that has become in our lives. Whether it be carrying stored trauma within your body, rejection or sadness at what you see looking back at you in the mirror, sexual shame or trauma, rage or grief, low self-worth or not feeling loved or seen enough it all results in the same outcome…. disconnection, protection, dissociation which causes us to shrink as we shut out joy, love, safety and presence.

Over the years my work has invited a blend of somatic and cognitive work to welcome in both mind and body processing. When this connection is rebuilt it helps release the emotion within, process on a cellular and cognitive level and helps restore nervous system re-balance and build resilience. Somatic psychotherapy creates the environment to invite in this internal work so you can show up connected, secure and self-aware in your life, and relationships both with others and self.

Using an alchemy of somatic and cognitive techniques blended with compassion, I create a safe space for you to unravel, process and deeply heal. I combine my academic knowledge with spiritual traditions that integrate various perspectives to facilitate growth. My bespoke approach focuses on finding an outcome that feels good for you, it’s not about forcing anything it’s about meeting you where you are whilst looking at where you desire to be. There are many ways trauma leaves an imprint on one's body, mind, and soul therefore finding a way of working together that helps you is crucial. 

Healing trauma or reconnecting back to yourself is a sacred process, not a quick fix. Given this, I tend to work longer term with clients to ensure we facilitate healing in the safest most authentic, nourishing way for you. 

To support you on your journey I provide resources, exercises or homework ‘offerings’ to ensure you feel resourced to continue the work in between sessions and once our time together ends.

I specialise in trauma and have gained vast experience working with grief, sexual trauma, relationship issues and recovery, female sexuality and intimacy, disconnection from the body, traumatic birth, shame, low self-worth, body image issues.

HOW I WORK…

Session’s can be weekly or bi-weekly, online or in person.

Fees:

20minute chat: free

60-minute session: £80

Pre-booked block of 4: £288 (10% discount offered when block booked)

Private practise hours: Tuesday 10am - 8pm, Thursdays 5.30pm - 7.30pm, Saturdays 10am-12noon.

In-person sessions based at Planet Yoga, Liverpool. Online held over zoom
